With the humidity on it’s way out of town, there’s only one thing to look forward to, fall shoes! This fall, there are 3 huge trends falling upon us. Here’s the lowdown on the trends and then check back over the next few weeks to find the best shoes for each trend.
1. Industrial–this trend is all about being rough and “urban,” I put “urban” in quotes because it’s more of an idea than an actual style, but, it brings the image to mind nonetheless. With this trend you will find distressed boots, lots of zippers, studs, matte blacks and dark leathers, and plenty of edge. Although this trend isn’t the best professional style, it has potential. All these industrial type shoes will look great with jeans, dresses and leggings (if you so choose), so there is plenty to go around. Are you industrial? You are if you like to rough up your style a bit and put your own spin on outfits. This trend is easy to work with and creates countless possibilities.
2. Uber-Prep–this fall try and simplify. The essence of the uber-prep is the simple, classic and easy style of basics. Not to be confused with boring, the uber-prep is tres chic and full of glam. The uber-prep has a closet full of flats, wedges and pumps loaded with patent leather, beads and bows. This trend is perfect for any occasion–the office, dinner parties, dog parks and shopping on Michigan Ave. Are you the uber-prep? You are if you love light, upbeat colors, cool style and easy fashion. The essence of the uber-prep is in their ease, so don’t overdo this simple and classic spin on style.
3. Wedges–I’m not even going to try and hide my excitement for this trend. I love wedges! Wedges have been on the rise for a while now, but this season is sure to be the biggest and best for wedges. Try out all the different kind of wedge boots that are out this fall, there are literally hundreds to choose from. The wedge is a classic style that accentuates anything. Even more, the wedge can be industrial or prep and therefore, you can find a wedge perfect for any occasion. Will you wear wedges? You will if heels exhaust your feet and but you still want the sophistication of a lift. Wedges are a great addition to any shoe collection and will last you for seasons to come.
